MUSIC NEWS- After re-scheduling their first six gigs on the new North American tour, AC/DC has now added a few more cities to their "Black Ice" tour which resumed Friday, 10/16. The hard rock legends started their anticipated second leg two weeks later than the run's planned start after lead vocalist Brian Johnson needed time off as a result of an unspecified medical procedure.
"My insides were giving me lots of trouble, ulcers and such," Johnson said in a message put up on the band's website last month. "The doctors looked me over ... In the end they gave me a clean bill of health, but insisted I take a bit of time to recuperate and rest up."
The autumn is now due to hit venues in fifteen cities on the East Coast of the USA, then through the South, along with a visit to Mexico (11/12) and a final gig in Puerto Rico (12/21). Dallas (11/2), Houston (11/8) and El Paso (11/15) have also been added to the schedule (full itinerary below).
AC/DC began the "Black Ice World Tour", the group's first live shows in five years, in October 2008. After the USA dates, the Black Ice tour will hit Latin America, then visit Australia and New Zealand "by early 2010."
The previously postponed concerts in Phoenix, Las Vegas, Louisville, KY, Kansas City, MO, Des Moines, IA and Milwaukee, WI will be rescheduled, but no details have been released.
