MUSIC NEWS- Record producer/engineer Malcolm Springer (Collective Soul, Matchbox 20, Fear Factory, Full Devil Jacket, Greenwheel) has announced the formal opening of his new recording studio, New Madrid County Recording Company, to be located in his home town of Portageville, MO. Following a major renovation of the new studio, Springer and NMCRC officially started accepting bands as of November 14th, 2009.
Springer describes his new facility as a "world class studio" and a major upgrade from his original studio which was housed in an upstairs warehouse. "While I was building the studio I thought of how places like this could actually change everything for artists," explains the four time grammy-winner. "The studio I have built is simply the best studio that's ever been built in this part of the world." He also adds, "I wanted to give our talent and youth a chance I never had growing up, to record an album in the best studio with the greatest engineers in the world working on my record."
The list of engineers and producers Springer has lined up to assist with the new studio are pretty impressive indeed, with their credits ranging from Paul McCartney to Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Smashing Pumpkins to 3 Doors Down.
Springer also said the studio will be a "one-stop shop" for bands, explaining that his creation of an independent record label, 11 Inch Records, for the studio will help bands get additional exposure, including different packages available for web design, photography, cd duplication, promotion, and band merchandise.
"I thought of what I would want if I were young again, if I were an artist on a mission to take over the world, and what I would need to have a fair chance to succeed at completing my mission. That's what the New Madrid County Recording Co. has been built for," says Springer.
NMCRC will house bands comfortably in Portageville, boasting a living quarters, a kitchen, a lounge, and several recording rooms. The purpose is to entertain bands of all magnitudes; veteran rock stars or young up & comers. One of the first bands to record at the studio is Island Records recording artists Saliva
NMCRC, as well as 11 Inch Records, will be a separate entity from another one of Springer's projects, Angelcrush Records, which is set to launch earlier next year.
