PC World has a good article up about whether or not Microsoft is still offering a challenge to Apple iPod with the Zune. The article points out all of the wonderful features and attributes that make the Zune a superiour choice for portable music player. The true question is why is Zune still struggling after 2 years and 2 new models? Could it be that the first generations of hardware where testing grounds for the device platform and upcoming new devices?
I think Microsoft has a slow and sure plan to tackle the Apple dominance and they are going to be taking a huge step forward with the new hardware releases. I hope we can finally get some real hype and sales for the Zune devices and the line becomes more popular and accepted by the masses.

f the rumors are true, Microsoft is gearing up to release a new Zune and take another stab at the portable media player market. Engadget and Technologizer say that the new model will be released later this year, and will probably have HD capabilities. A spokesman for the Zune team declined to comment on the specific rumors, but told the Standard “we will deliver progress this calendar year on both hardware and software.”
