
Well this is a surprise: Rogers is actually doing something useful for its customers in the form of a free usage tracking application for the iPhone. I just downloaded the app earlier this morning, but there’s not much to it, so it’s easy to pump this quick review out.
First of all, it doesn’t work on wi-fi — you’ve got to be on a cellular data connection to use it (sorry no-data iPhone users). Upon first launching the application, it can take up to 20 seconds before any information shows up on-screen. However, subsequent launches of the app show my account info within about five seconds on a 3G connection. That’s still a little slow, but it’s much faster than getting on a desktop client and logging into your My Rogers account or calling customer service.
