It will be U2's (surprisingly) first Glasto appearance, marking the British festival’s 40th anniversary, and continuing its trend in acquiring big name acts. Last year, Blur, Neil Young and Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band headlined the festival. Festival founder Michael Eavis said he was delighted to have “the biggest band in the world,” and promised “more surprises in the pipeline.”
Glastonbury is one of the most notable music festivals and was founded by Eavis back in 1970. Tickets have already sold out for the multi-day event, running this year June 23 thru 27, 2010.
